Engraving Lessons: Trip 1

I just got back to Central Ohio from a 3-day private hand engraving lesson in Traverse City with the world famous Christian DeCamillas

The trip took about 8-hours one way to my AirBRB. I assumed Michigan would be a lot like Ohio as far as scenary, but I was completly wrong. Traverse City is a beautiful area. There are so many lakes to visit plus the Traverse City Bay.

During my lessons I learned the following from Chris:

• Graver sharpening and tool making

• Graver finishing

• Surface preperation

• Various borders and jewelry patterns

• Some basic lettering techniques

• Gold and silver inlay in steel

All in all it was an amazing trip and I look forward to my 2nd one!
